Salad tub uses hydroponically grown veggies for its salads and soups. In Hydroponics, plants are grown in water based nutrient solution rather than soil. There are several benefits of using hydroponically grown vegetables. In soil, organic pesticides are placed in soil and then it is absorbed by the plants’ roots. But in hydroponics, nutrient solutions are directly placed in water. Because of which hydroponic growers can protect their plants from pathogens by carefully filtering the water.
Soil based plants can loose it’s nutrients over time if it’s travelling from miles. Since hydroponically farms are typically placed near their consumers’ and hence we gets a complete nutrition from plants. The soil based plants’ nutritions are based on the soil quality. But in hydroponics, You can enhance a plant’s nutrient levels simply by adding nutrients to the solution they’re grown in. The nature of soil based minerals is slow release whereas hydroponic minerals are fast release. The hydroponically grown veggies like leaf lettuce, cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers, blueberries, strawberries, watercress, spinach, celery and some herbs are directly grown in water. So there is a large quantity of water in it. It will keep our body hydrated for longer time.
